![]() It cuts with a circular saw and you can attach it to drywall or most any other type of substrate. The last thing we wanted was a shower that look and felt cheap. The others had that cheap, hollow fiberglass/plastic feel and sound to them. The Swan panels felt like they were quality. Like you we looked at various brands of panel systems. Went with the Modern Subway tile in a marble pattern. It's easy to clean, it feels solid, looks good, and hasīeen a solid product overall. We put it in a child's bathroom knowing there'd be lots of water splashing, messes to clean, etc. After getting everything finished and living in the house for 9+ months, we should have done all of the bathrooms in Swanstone. Three were done with tile showers and one was done with Swanstone panels for the shower. We just got done with an entire gut/remodel job. My question is does anyone have experience with Swanstone or Onyx Collection for shower walls? I have gotten estimates from a few contractors for a labor only price, but I don't think they have much experience with Swanstone specifically, so I am going to ask the showroom for referrals for contractors that know the product well. Swanstone will cost about $3000, and Onyx is probably a little less expensive but is only sold through dealers that do the installation, so the price is part of the price of the whole remodel. The materials that I am considering are Swanstone and Onyx Collection. ![]() I am aware that all the seams (between the panel walls, between the walls and the shower pan, and between the pan and the floor) are caulked, and that caulking will need to be replaced periodically, just like with tile. I am strongly leaning towards the panel material because of the lack of grout, and hence easier maintenance. We are replacing a 30圆0" tub that has tile walls with a 32圆0x96" shower, with a pan and three walls that will either be large tile or shower panel. I am hiring a contractor to do a master bath remodel.
